Telangana is striving for identity, self rule, self respect from many decades, its an democratic wish for the formation of new state & it is now almost looks like another independance struggle in Telangana {students, men & women from all castes/religions in Telangana are wishing for a saperate statehood}.
Inspite of the strong will of Telanganites, some people are trying to stop Telangana state with the below points.[where as Telangana is suffering from over decades in united Andhra [Identity crisis, Lack of opportunities to grow]
1. Telugu unity
2. By the name: Shri.Potti Sreeramulu
3. Statement like “United we stand divide we fall”
I would like to comment on the above statements one by one.
1. Telugu Unity: – Telangana is not only a Telugu, we are very proud that it’s a cosmopolitan region [along with the Telugu people Telangana has large number of Urdu, Parsi, Marathi speaking people]. In the current 21st century, the world is moving towards humanity rather than the language/religion/caste; the founder of the City, Kuli Kutubshahi made Hyderabad as a cosmopolitan without any linguistic feelings. In current scenario I feel it would be pure regional feeling if we talk only about the Telugu unity.
We do give equal respect to Hindi/Urdu/Marathi languages. Unfortunately Telangana telugu/culture is always been humiliated from so many decades by our own Telugu people who are now talking about unity of Telugu. What happened to unity of Telugu or spirit of brotherhood when
a.Very Less Jobs in secretariat are from Telangana
b. Telugu films humiliating Telangana Language. [We feel like, we lost our identity on our own land]. Why there are less than 5% film actors are from this region, now they talk this is the talent based industry, we feel that we have been not provided with the opportunity to prove the talent.]
c. What happened to spirit of brother hood in implementing 610 GO/Mulki Rules?
d. What happened to unity when all the conditions are violated[conditions which are accepted during merging of Andhra with Telangana]
India has got many languages and it’s great that we are still surviving with many cultures/languages/religions and stated as a largest democracy in the world. At this point of time focusing on unity of only Telugu people will become a complete regional feeling, we should be thinking of India as whole and start loving and speaking Hindi, All I mean love national language more than a regional language.
2. Potti Sreeramulu: There is no direct relation of Shri. Potti Sreeramulu with the Telangana [Hyderabad],
One of the most respected leaders Shri.Potti Sreeramulu was undertaken fast-unto-death for achieving the state of Andhra in 1952 separating from the Madras State. He died and laid down his life trying to achieve his objective
State of Andhra [only with two regions i.e. Coastal Andhra & Rayalaseema] was established with Kurnool as capital carving it out from Madras State in 1953, Telangana [Formerly Hyderabad state] was not in this picture when Andhra was separated from Madras state. However, the Telangana was existed as separate state in Independent India before merging with Andhra state in 1956. With the States reorganization Commission On November 1, 1956, Telangana was merged with Andhra and as a result Andhra Pradesh was formed with Hyderabad as its capital.
Knowing the above facts, the following questions are raised in my mind
a. Why AP government remembers Shri. Potti Sreeramulu on November 1st every year, based on the history/facts he should be remembered on 1st October [On 1 October 1953, the state of Andhra was established with Kurnool as capital carving it out from Madras State.
b. Why politicians using Shri. Potti Sreeramulu photos whenever there is a demand for separate Telangana state arises.
3. Unite we stand divide we fall: - Why andhrites are not united with Madras, what happened to this statement at that time. The demand for separate state for Andhra in 1950’s was also an a democratic & is based on the same issues like ‘identity loss for Telugu people’/self rule/Opportunities etc
In the same way the demand Telangana is also based on self rule, jobs or opportunities. Moreover Telangana will be under Indian constituency anybody from India will have full rights to stay any where in India, This means we are always in united.
We all should agree now there is no spirit of brotherhood between these two regions, I believe this spirit of brotherhood grows only when we are politically separated. [Political Separation and Emotional Integration]
Separation leads to development of both the regions new capital/new leaders/new infrastructure/more employment. Since Hyderabad was capital for all of us for about 60 years, we are sure justice will be done for both the regions by proper allocation of funds to create a new capital/new infrastructure at the same time water is distributed accordingly.
Now, its time for us to focus on the development plan in both the regions after the formation of states, Like Vishakapatnam/Vijayawada is having bright chances of becoming another good city in south India, Making a new capital itself generates huge number of Job opportunities in any region, any capital city will get a good Industries and the medical facilities.
I hope all people of Andhra region & also from entire subcontinent understand the importance of separate Telangana and cooperate for the peaceful formation of separate state by educating the people about its necessity and at the same time looking forward to one more wonderful city in south India like Bangalore/Hyderabad [Multi Cultural, Multi Language, India’s another cosmopolitan City] with the mutual cooperation.
